Thursday, March 19, 2015

On the above date just after 0200 hrs, Station 23 was alerted to assist Stations 2&21 on a working residential fire.  Rescue Engine 236 quickly responded with a crew of 6 under the command of Asst. Chief DiVesta.  Upon arrival, RE236 was ordered by command to report to the second floor and check for fire extension, and complete a primary search for victims.  Crews opened up the walls and ceiling, and completed the primary search with negative results.  The crew then reported back to the first floor and assited with extinguishing fire there.  As the fire on the first floor and in the garage advanced, some extension to the second floor was found and the same was extinguished.  The crew of the Rescue Engine opened up and checked for hot spots before being released by command.  The crew operated for around 3.5 hours before returing to quarters.  Ambulance 23 also stood by on the fire scene.
