Working Fire in Old New Castle

On the above date at around 0230 hours, Station 18 (Goodwill) along with mutual aid companies were alerted for a reported house fire in the 100 block of W. Ninth St. in Old New Castle. Engine 18 arrived to find a 2 story duplex with smoke showing. Station 23 was alerted for the R.I.T assignment on the working fire dispatch. Rescue Engine 23-6 responded within minutes with a crew of 5 under the command of FF B. Hamm. On arrival, the Rescue Engine's crew threw multiple ground ladders, vented the structure, and staged as the R.I.T on the Alpha side of the structure. The Fire was put under control within an hour and 23-6 cleared within an hour and a half.
