Busy Weekend for Company 23

On Saturday 03/03/2018 just before 1100hrs, Station 23 was alerted for an Engine and Rescue assist to Christiana for a reported Apartment Fire.  Squad and Rescue 23 quickly responded.  Units from Station 12 arrived and reported a fire in a ground floor apartment with smoke on all 3 floors.  Rescue 23 conducted a primary search on the third floor and checked for fire extension.  Squad 23 stood by at a secondary water supply before being released by command.

Later in the afternoon just before 1400hrs, Station 23 was alerted again this time for a Rescue assist to Cranston Heights for a reported Building Fire.  Engine 14 arrived and reported a "Working Alarm".  Rescue 23 arrived as the first due special service and conducted a primary search of the fire apartment, and assisted Engine 14 with opening up to check for extension.  Rescue 23 operated for around an hour before being released by command. Throughout the weekend the members of Company 23 handled 19 incidents including wires, crashes, and structure fires.
