Rescue Runs 21 Trailer Fire
Sunday, October 18, 2015

On the above date, just after 0230hrs, Station 23 was alerted for the Rapid Intervention Team to assist Station 21 on a "working" mobile home trailer fire in the Park Place section of their fire district.  Rescue 23 quickly hit the street with a crew of 5 under the command of Captain Mills.  Fire Chief 21 arrived and reported that two mobile homes were on fire.  Rescue 23 arrived quickly after and reported to command where they were re-assigned from Rapid Intervention duties to a special service assignment.  Crews entered the structure and found high heat and zero visibility but worked to complete a primary search before being evacuated by command due to water supply issues.  A positive water supply was established and crews re-entered the structure to open up and extinguish hidden fire.  In all 3 trailers were affected and the Delaware State Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause.  Rescue 23 cleared this incident and responded to an MVC reported with entrapment on Interstate 95.
