Rescue Company dispatched for RIT at house fire

On the above date ,prior to 16:00 Station 18 was alerted to respond to the unit block of W. 5TH Street in Old New Castle for a residential fire. Engine 18 arrived and reported smoke showing with heavy fire conditions in the attic.Minquas of Newport was dispatched as the Rapid Intervention Team with the working fire assignment. Rescue 23 with a crew of 6 responded quickly after being toned out.The unit was commanded by LT. Moorhead. Rescue 23's manpower and equipment positioned at the "A" side of the structure until released by Command. Rescue 23 was then transferred to New Castle Co.18 for several hours until New Castle units were back in service. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the members of Co.18 that were directly affected by this misfortune.
