On Monday March 19, 2018 just after 1600hrs, Station 23 was dispatched for an Engine to assist Station 28 on a reported house on fire.  Squad, Rescue, and Chief 23 responded.  Chief 34-8 arrived to find a single story single family dwelling with fire showing from the house and a large out building in the rear yard.  Squad 23 arrived as the first engine, secured a water supply and split the crew stretching two handlines.  The first line worked to extinguish the fire in the house, and the second line worked on the outbuilding in the rear yard.  Rescue 23 arrived as the first special service and conducted searches in the house and opened up for the engine companies.  Chief 23 assisted command with accountability.  Station 23 units operated for around 2 hours before being released by command.

Earlier in the day Squad 23 operated as the second due engine assisting Station 12 with a working basement fire.  The first crews made quick work of the fire, Squad 23 operated for around 1 hour.
