Squad Runs 17 Residential Fire, First Due Box

On Saturday, February 2, around 0630 hours, the residential fire box was dropped for the report of smoke in a basementin the 600 block of North DuPont Road. Squad 23 responded and arrived first, finding fire in the basement of the adjacent residence. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews were available within one hour.

In the early afternoon, the Squad and Deputy made the response to the DelTech Stanton Campus for a reported waterflow alarm. The Squad arrived to find a sprinkler activation with a smoke condition inside the school. The commercial fire box was dropped, as the Squad crew established a water supply and stretched a 2.5" to the area of concern. Upon investigation the cause of the smoke was found to be a light ballast, flooded with water, and units cleared a short time later.
